Medfinder Text Message (SMS) Terms & Opt-In
What we text you, how you sign up, and how to stop at any time.
Last updated: August 13, 2026
Medfinder helps you find a pharmacy that actually has your prescription in stock. Text messages are how we tell you what we found. This page explains exactly what we send, how you agree to receive it, how often it arrives, what it costs, and how to turn it off.
Who is texting you
These messages come from Medfinder, a service operated by Insito Health, Inc., 56 Broad St STE 14277, Boston, MA 02109. Every message we send begins with “Medfinder:” so you always know who it is from.
What we text you
We send four kinds of messages, and only after you have asked us to:
- Updates on a medication search you started. We tell you when your search begins, when it is taking longer than usual, and when we have found a pharmacy that has your medication.
- Answers to questions you text us. These messages are two-way. If you reply with a question, a member of our team replies to you.
- A prescription savings card you asked us to text you. If you use the savings card tool on medfinder.com and choose to have the card sent by text, we send it to the number you type in.
- Messages about a prescription your healthcare provider sent through Medfinder. If your prescriber uses Medfinder, we may text you a link to choose which pharmacy you want to use, or to confirm that your prescription was sent.
We also occasionally send service and promotional messages about Medfinder, such as a reminder that a refill is due or news about the service. You can stop all of these at any time by replying STOP.
Examples of what you will receive
- “Medfinder: We’re on it! We’ve started your search and will send you a text as soon as we find your medications. If you have any questions or need help, just text us at this number!”
- “Medfinder: We found your medications! Click the link below to view your pharmacy details. [link]”
- “Medfinder: Our AI just handed your search off to our team of co-pilots to find you an in stock pharmacy. We’ll text you as soon as we find one that works!”
- “Your Medfinder savings card for [medication] at [pharmacy] ([price]): [link]”
How you sign up
We only text a mobile number that you typed in yourself and agreed to let us use. We never text numbers that we bought, rented, borrowed from another company, or collected from anywhere other than you.
Signing up on our website
Anyone can sign up directly at medfinder.com/sms-opt-in. You enter your mobile number and tick a box that is empty until you tick it. The box reads:
“I agree to receive text messages from Medfinder about my medication searches, along with service and promotional messages, at the number I provide. Message frequency may vary. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. We will not share mobile information with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Consent is not a condition of purchase.”
We then text you a confirmation message so you know the sign-up worked and can reply STOP straight away if you change your mind. We keep a record of the number, the exact wording you agreed to, and when you agreed to it.
Starting a medication search
When you start a search in the Medfinder app, we ask for your mobile number and show a consent checkbox. It reads:
“I agree to receive SMS messages for status updates and marketing. (Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for assistance.)”
Message frequency may vary, and standard message and data rates may apply, as described on this page. Text updates are how we deliver your search results, so we need a mobile number and your agreement to text it before a search can run. You can stop the messages at any time by replying STOP.
Having a savings card texted to you
On the savings card pages at medfinder.com, you can type your mobile number and tap “Text the card to me.” Directly above that button, we show:
“By tapping below, you agree to receive an automated text message with your savings card at the number provided. Consent is not required to use Medfinder. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.”
Agreeing to this text is optional. You can print the card, email it to yourself, or just use it on screen, and the card is free either way.
Messages from your healthcare provider
If your prescriber uses Medfinder, they collect your permission to text you at the point of care, either on a form you sign or by asking you directly, and record it before any message is sent. The first message identifies Medfinder and tells you how to stop.
How often we text you
Message frequency may vary and depends on what you asked us to do. A typical medication search produces about two to four messages over a few hours: one when the search starts, sometimes one while it is still running, and one when we have a result. A savings card request produces a single message. If you reply to us with a question, you will get replies until your question is answered.
What it costs
Medfinder does not charge you for text messages. Standard message and data rates may apply — your mobile carrier may charge you for sending or receiving them, depending on your plan. Check with your carrier if you are unsure.
How to stop the messages
Reply STOP to opt out at any time. You can reply STOP to any message we send you, and STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE and QUIT all work. We will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and after that no further messages will be sent to that number unless you sign up again.
Because text messages are how we deliver search results, stopping them means we can no longer tell you when we find your medication. You can still see your results by signing in to your Medfinder account.
You can also email us at support@medfinder.com and ask us to stop texting a number. Please give us a reasonable amount of time to process a request made this way; replying STOP is immediate.
How to get help
Reply HELP to any message and we will send you a message telling you who we are and how to reach us. You can also reach a person at support@medfinder.com or (617) 631-8894.
We do not share your mobile number
Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign. All of the categories of information sharing described in our Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We may share your personal data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to platform providers, phone companies, and any other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages — plus the support staff who answer your replies. They may use it only to deliver the messages you asked for, and never for their own marketing.
Delivery is not guaranteed
Text messages depend on your mobile carrier and your phone. Messages may be delayed or may not arrive at all, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Do not rely on a text message for anything urgent or time-critical. If you have a medical emergency, call 911.
Who can sign up
These messages are available on mobile numbers in the United States, on all major carriers. You must be at least 18 years old, and the mobile number you give us must be one you own or are allowed to use. Please tell us if your number changes or stops being yours, so we do not text it by mistake.
Where to read more
How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy and our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy. Your use of Medfinder is governed by our Terms of Service. The savings card has its own Savings Card Terms & Disclosures.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a change that meaningfully affects the messages you receive, we will tell you before it takes effect.
