Smoking significantly increases the risk of serious cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke, blood clots) in women taking combination oral contraceptives (COCs). This risk increases with age and the number of cigarettes smoked. Larin 24 Fe is contraindicated in women over 35 who smoke.
