A guide for ophthalmologists and optometrists on all savings programs available for Vevye, including Access for All, savings cards, Medicare coverage, and Medicaid.
Helping Patients Afford Vevye: A Provider's Overview
Vevye (cyclosporine ophthalmic solution 0.1%) has a retail list price of approximately $900-$1,070 per 2 mL bottle. This cost can immediately derail treatment adherence when patients see it at the pharmacy counter. Fortunately, a well-designed ecosystem of savings programs means most patients can access Vevye for $59 or less in 2026.
Program Overview at a Glance
- VEVYE Access for All (PhilRx): $59/bottle, no PA, launched March 2025 — for cash-pay and eligible commercially insured patients
- VEVYE Savings Card: $0 copay for eligible commercially insured patients at retail pharmacies
- Medicare Part D: Covered by major PBMs (Express Scripts, Cigna, Kaiser, CVS Caremark) as of January 2025
- Medicaid: Covered by all U.S. state Medicaid programs
- GoodRx and discount cards: Available as a fallback option
VEVYE Access for All: Recommended First-Line for Most Patients
For prescribers, VEVYE Access for All is the most workflow-efficient savings pathway. Launched March 17, 2025 through PhilRx, it was designed to eliminate practice burden from prior authorizations and step therapy edits.
How It Works for Your Practice
- Write the Vevye prescription in your EMR as normal
- Send electronically to PhilRx (available in most major EMR systems)
- PhilRx processes and ships directly to the patient with free home delivery, no PA required
- Patient pays $59 (cash-pay) or potentially $0 (eligible commercially insured)
No PA paperwork for your staff. No step therapy requirements. No appeals to manage.
Eligibility Notes
- NOT valid for patients with Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, VA, DOD, or any government-funded program
- First fill money-back guarantee available for eligible cash-paying patients
- Program questions: call Harrow at 833-442-7769
VEVYE Savings Card: $0 Copay at Retail Pharmacies
For patients who prefer filling at a retail pharmacy with commercial insurance covering Vevye, the VEVYE Savings Card at vevye.com/savings-program can bring copays to as little as $0. Valid at participating retail pharmacies nationwide. Commercially insured patients only — not valid for government insurance programs.
Recommended workflow: Share the URL vevye.com/savings-program with patients at the point of prescription. If PA is required, the card should be registered in advance so it's ready when coverage is approved.
Medicare Part D Coverage: 2025 Update
Effective January 1, 2025, Vevye is covered on key Medicare Part D formularies managed by Express Scripts, Cigna, Kaiser Permanente, and CVS Caremark — representing more than 25 million Medicare Part D beneficiaries. Vevye is also covered by all U.S. Medicaid programs.
The VEVYE Access for All $59 program is NOT available to Medicare beneficiaries. Direct these patients to their Part D plan for formulary tier and copay information. If PA is required, document: DED diagnosis, clinical rationale for Vevye (first cyclosporine for both signs and symptoms, water-free formulation, early onset at 4 weeks), and insufficient response to other measures.
Medicare Extra Help / Low-Income Subsidy (LIS) may significantly reduce costs for low-income beneficiaries. Direct patients to ssa.gov/medicare/part-d to apply.
For Uninsured Patients
VEVYE Access for All at $59 per bottle through PhilRx is the best option for uninsured patients. If $59 is still a barrier: generic cyclosporine 0.05% is approximately $90/month with GoodRx, or Cequa Direct Pricing offers $89/month without insurance.
Transitioning Patients from Compounded Cyclosporine
As of April 2025, VEVYE Access for All has been expanded to facilitate transitions from compounded cyclosporine 0.1% (Klarity-C, ImprimisRx). Prescribers can transfer Klarity-C prescriptions to PhilRx in approximately 5 minutes using a dedicated prescription authorization platform. The $59 pricing applies to these transition patients as well.
Counseling Patients at the Point of Prescription
- Tell patients: Vevye can be expensive at retail, but I am sending your prescription to PhilRx where it will cost $59 with free delivery and no insurance hassle
- For commercial insurance: register for the VEVYE Savings Card at vevye.com — the copay may be $0
- If cost remains an issue: call 833-442-7769 to reach Harrow patient support
- Do not stop at the first pharmacy if they quote a price over $1,000 — there are programs that dramatically reduce that price
Medfinder: Supporting Patient Access
Directing patients to Medfinder helps them find Vevye at nearby pharmacies if they prefer local pickup rather than mail order. Medfinder's pharmacy search reduces the frustration of calling multiple pharmacies manually.
