Severe or persistent high blood pressure — Zomig can cause blood pressure elevations, particularly in patients with hepatic impairment or high doses.

Allergic reaction: Hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat (anaphylaxis). Very rare but requires immediate care.

The Medication Overuse Headache (MOH) Warning

Using Zomig or any other acute migraine medication for 10 or more days per month can trigger a condition called medication overuse headache (MOH), sometimes called analgesic rebound. This causes a new, chronic daily headache pattern that can actually worsen your overall migraine frequency. If you notice your headaches are becoming more frequent over time despite using Zomig, mention this to your doctor. You may need a preventive migraine therapy.

Chest or Throat Tightness — Common vs. Cardiac?
