Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (dihydropyridine class) used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), chronic stable angina, and vasospastic (Prinzmetal's) angina. It is also prescribed to reduce the risk of hospitalization for angina and coronary revascularization in patients with coronary artery disease.
Originally marketed as Norvasc by Pfizer, Amlodipine has been available as an affordable generic since 2007. It is FDA-approved for adults and children ages 6 and older for hypertension. It is taken once daily, with or without food, making it a convenient option for long-term blood pressure management.
Amlodipine is also sometimes used off-label for Raynaud's phenomenon and migraine prevention.
We have a 99% success rate finding medications, even during nationwide shortages.
